She was painted during a time when I was experiencing an enormous amount of loss, and was having difficulty finding my way back to the canvas. Emotion is my main inspiration in creating, yet I had no idea how to express this particular time in my life into shape and color. Her arms are unfinished, the lines of her lower arms are broken and not solid. There is space within her body, nothing quite fits, or flows. To me, this is a very raw painting. It is one of my favorites because of that.
